Vinod K. Rustgi

Dr. Vinod Rustgi is a Professor in Epidemiology in the School of Public Health and a Professor in Pathology and Lab Medicine. He previously served as Program Director for the Gastroenterology Fellowship until the 2022/2023 academic year and currently serves as Associate Program Director. He has extensive experience in hepatology spanning over 30 years and previously held the position of Medical Director of Liver Transplantation at the University of Pittsburgh’s Starzl Transplant Institute. His research and clinical interests include outcomes research in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), other liver diseases, and cost-effectiveness modeling. He has contributed to antiviral research associated with hepatitis C cure efforts and has served on the Governing Board of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD).
