Descripción

Magnetic Biochar: Chemistry, Design and Applications provides a comprehensive examination of magnetic biochar, encompassing its synthesis, chemical properties and practical applications. A timely response to the rising demand for sustainable, multifunctional materials, the book fills a gap in the literature by uniting fundamental and applied perspectives on this emerging class of adsorptive, catalytic and magnetically recoverable material. It presents detailed procedures for producing magnetic biochars, methods for surface functionalization, and techniques for characterizing their magnetic, chemical and adsorptive properties, alongside computational modelling for process optimization and troubleshooting.
The book covers real-world applications in environmental remediation, industrial catalysis and sustainable energy systems—including wastewater treatment, air purification and energy storage—supported by case studies and emerging trends. It also addresses standardized measurement protocols, quality control, and sustainability through lifecycle assessment and environmental and health-impact evaluation, serving as a reference for environmental scientists, materials chemists, engineers and industry professionals.
