Non-Terrestrial Networks: Paving the Way Towards Global Connectivity presents technologies that are important for NTNs - from LEO satellite communication, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)/flying platforms assisted wireless networking, the use of machine learning, edge computing, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, multiple access, wireless backhaul/fronthaul, integrated access and backhaul, integrated sensing and communications, and high frequency channel modeling such as terahertz, sub-terahertz, and millimeter wave. These technologies are essential in providing a paradigm shift from current wireless standards and will usher in the development of exciting new vertical frameworks.

Muhammad Zeeshan Shakir

Prof. Muhammad Zeeshan Shakir is Professor of Wireless Communication and Director of the Digital Connectivity and Innovation Centre at the University of the West of Scotland. With 20+ years of experience and nearly £10 million in research funding, his work focuses on 5G/6G networks, IoT, and AI. He has published over 200 articles, contributed to ten books, and received numerous awards for his contributions to research and innovation. A Senior Member of IEEE, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, he also serves as Executive Chair for IEEE ICC 2026 in Glasgow.

Aryan Kaushik

Prof. Aryan Kaushik is Director of OUF Innovative (UK). Previously he has been Associate Professor at Manchester Met (UK), Assistant Professor at University of Sussex (UK), and Research Fellow at UCL (UK). He has also held visiting positions at leading institutions across UK, Luxembourg, Italy, China, etc. Recognized among the Stanford/Elsevier World’s Top 2% Scientists, he serves as an international assessor, PhD examiner, and funding evaluator. He chairs IEEE ComSoc TWG-ESIT and SIG-AITNTN, serves as one6G WG3 Vice-Chair, has edited five books, received seven IEEE Exemplary Editor Awards, and has delivered over 150 talks worldwide while chairing numerous flagship IEEE conferences.
