Polybenzimidazoles (PBIs) represent a unique class of polymers with exceptional thermo-mechanical properties and chemical resistance suitable for a variety of applications. It is primarily used to produce temperature and flame-resistant fibers but because of its high thermal stability and interesting structure of imidazole-based polymers, PBIs are attracting steadily increasing interest for applications in different fields.
Polybenzimidazole-Based Materials: From Synthesis to Application presents readers with comprehensive and cutting-edge information on the synthesis, structure modification, processing, properties, and applications of PBIs with various structure as well as their related copolymers. Recent advances and new applications of PBIs are also discussed, making this a valuable reference for material scientists, polymer scientists and engineers in academia and industry.
