This collection is from authors chosen based on their exposure to the field of criminal justice and proven expertise in a particular area. The book deals with the forecasting ability of the police for developments over the whole field of public affairs. The book relates the development of a specific group therapy program and shows that children can still be taught complex and socially adaptive behavior despite their situations. It is also demonstrated that non-professionals can be trained as operative child-behavior therapists and parents are the best candidate as therapists of their children. The text defines the term Autism and briefly explains its context. It was suggested that the most useful type of therapy is observed current behavior. Stimulus control, respondent conditioning, and contingency management are important tools of the therapy. A chapter of the book is devoted on control of aggressive and tantrum behavior. Such behaviors were defined and examples were given. To control these behaviors, a process called extinction was exercised. Such process weakens a response through its non-reinforced repetition. The book will provide useful information to psychologists, therapists, parents with autistic children, students and researcher in the field of psychology.

The following chapters present exercises that deal with industrial misconduct, a lightning strike, productivity bargaining, and restrictive practices and how to remove them. Another exercise focuses on the growth and decay of a small shipyard and the management's attempts to achieve recovery through diversification. The remaining exercises address the subject of anti-management activity; whether an apprentice who participated in a sit-down demonstration outside the factory is a revolutionary, and how to deal with him accordingly; and racialism in industry. This monograph will be a valuable resource for supervisors and managers, employees, and company training officers.

Other sections of this book deal with the application, strengths, and limitations of security equipment. This book is written in layman's language and is intended to be read by people who supply, use, or need security services and equipment.

The study of lifelong education brings to light aspects of education which go beyond the purely intellectual sphere into all dimensions of being. These dimensions assume great importance for individuals seeking to develop capacities which will enable them to cope successfully with the challenges they will confront throughout life and to participate constructively in the larger processes of development. The subjects covered include communication, corporal man, time, space, art, man as citizen, the ethical domain, technology and the scientific spirit, and from these papers emerges the unifying theme of the interrelationship between morality and technology. This relationship poses the vital question of how individuals should decide which of the new technologies that proliferate in contemporary society is likely to be beneficial to humankind and which destructive. The book is the result of a collective project undertaken by the Unesco Institute of Education (UIE). The approach adopted is new in two respects: first, each theme is treated in terms of learning, and second, each is related to the others in a global and transdisciplinary view of personal development. It is written by experts from various countries who are known internationally for their outstanding contributions to research into the problems of learning as a basis for lifelong education, and will be important reading for all those involved in the study and practice of lifelong education.
