The Recycling and Disposal of Solid Waste contains the proceedings of a course held at The University of Nottingham on April 1-5, 1974. This book contains 16 papers separated as chapters. Topics include economic potential of waste recycling; bulk reduction by incineration, hydrolysis and pyrolysis; organic wastes; glass recycling; legal aspects of solid waste disposal; the sorting of solid waste into useful fractions; and ferrous metals recycling. This text also describes the tipping and sanitary landfill; textiles recycling; polymers recycling; new materials created from waste; and toxic and radioactive solid wastes. Air pollution from solid waste disposal; non-ferrous metals recycling; and the plating and ECM sludges as raw materials are also presented.
